Week 4 2-1 MTSU at 1-2(0-1) FAU

A rainy day in Boca Raton Florida was the scene as we opened up C-USA play. Once again Jordan Parker lit up the stat sheet finishing the day as player of the game with 17 rushes for 194 yards and a TD, which was an NCAA record of 80 yards. The defense played solid giving up 301 yards of total offense with 1 sack and 1 INT. MTSU plied up 462 yards of total offense on the day.

Year 5 the Bears finished 1-11 with their only win vs Western Kentucky (who actually finished 8-5). Lost to Stanford in overtime for the 2nd year in a row! Rival South Eastern Missouri State finished 4-8 and crushed the Bears 45-7. They have built themselves up to a decent team, rated C overall (I am a D+).

Ohio State won the national championship over TAMU.

My WR turned QB had an even worse season then last year. 7 TDs and 26 INTs! Halfback Matt Young had 513 yards and 1 TD but averaged 4.6 yards per carry. My stud MLB got suspended for 3 weeks midseason due to breaking team rules, hopefully that doesn't become a trend.

I got the 90th ranked recruiting class.. my big recruit Is a 4 star QB who is a gem, 78 OVR! He will be my starter next year most likely.

One thing I have noticed about this game that I really love is how there are 'hidden' Athletes. Like, I recruited a WR who turned out to have 85 THP and 76 THA, a cornerback whos got 76 break tackle and decent carrying who would make a decent halfback. I am realizing that its important to check all my recruits ratings before I advance through the position changes part of the offseason. My newest find is my 74 OVR receiver, he has 76 strength, 72 tackling, and is 6'0 244lbs! He could find some playing time at linebacker next year.

So anyway, I am now 'taking over' as coach. I will be playing all the games and doing the recruiting. I will be posting updates after each game, showcasing stats, and maybe even some video highlights. I will also be sure to update you on what's going on around the league as well.

The Bears enter the 2014 season as 1 star prestige, and I am hoping to change that.

Stay tuned folks!

ESPN instant classic in Provo!

3-1(1-0) MTSU at 1-2 BYU

The crowd in Provo, Utah was on site for one for the best games of the college football season. On the first drive of the game MTSU looked like they came to play going straight down the field for 82 yards and scoring on a 1 yard rush by Jordan Parker, then BYU took over. They scored 17 straight points and took a 17-10 lead into halftime. They took the second half kick off and went straight back down then field to go up 24-10 and looked in control after Austin Grammer threw his first INT of the season. MTSU would get the ball back and with 1:37 left in the 3rd score on a Reggie Whatley 2 yard run. After forcing a punt, we drove back down the field and being down 24-17 were faced with a 4th and goal on the 1 with 3:22 left. Not knowing if the defense could hold BYU again, coach Kay sent out the offense and Jordan Parker took it in, and tied up the game. BYU started the next drive off hot, but were forced to punt with 1:06 left. On the first play Grammer hit Tavarres Jefferson on a 56 yard bomb. After 3 runs and running the clock down to :03 the kicking unit came on. BYU iced the kicker but he was set up to good, and after missing a FG earlier in the game the freshman hit the game winner as time expired from 24 yards. In a great game, the Blue
Raiders escaped Utah with a victory. With the win MTSU moves to 4-1(1-0) and drops BYU to 1-3.

Stats
MTSU
Austin Grammer 14-19 269 yards 1 INT
Jordan Parker 22 attempts for 110 yards 2 TD
Tavarres Jefferson 5 catches for 153 yards which is the first 100 yard game of the season by any receiver.

BYU
Taysom Hill 20-30 225 yards 2 TD 1 INT, 74 yards rushing and a TD
Cody Hoffman 5 receptions for 82 yards and a TD

In week 6 4-1(1-0) MTSU will face 3-1(1-0) ECU
