About to start up a dynasty again its been too long for me. Will start in the 2016 season (No updated rosters) With 0-12 UCF along with some recruiting restrictions. Should have this team winning again after a season or two.

Looking forward to hearing about it.
Got a new custom conference setup that I'm gonna try within the next three seasons. It's my best attempt at geographically responsible conferences.

Spoiler

Re: How is your dynasty going

I am currently in my 11th season as university of Buffalo's head coach. We just came off of an 10-3 season with an American conference championship and ranked 23rd in the nation. we lost the rose bowl to a stout Navy team that ran over us all game, final score 23-10.

In the off season I lock up a few more high profile prospects and finish with the second best recruiting class in the nation. best class I have had since I started.
The Buffalo Bulls are in the American conference which is predicted to be much weaker for the upcoming 2023 season. So to bolster my schedule I put up a very challenging non conference series of match ups to ascertain the strength of my team.

We start the season against Iowa un-ranked but rated 91-90-92. we lose in a nail biter 23-24. A late fumble on a QB sack decided the game when my QB Quentin Hawkins was making a game winning drive and fumbled the ball in field goal range.

Next game we got absolutely demolished by #9 ranked Texas A&M 43-17 their offense was just too explosive and defense too athletic. Two key injuries by my first and third string corners had a huge impact. one corner out for season and another for 10 weeks. those two injuries really stretched our pass defense thin and allowed them to pick us apart in the air.

The last game I played was against the previously #1 ranked Florida State Seminoles. They are now ranked #14 due to a crazy upset by unranked Ole Miss. we end up losing in another nail biter 27-30 my young offense could not get it together when it mattered most. QB was overing thrown passes and WR dropping passes in the 4th with 54 seconds left cost us the game.

The Bulls are now 0-3 looking to pull themselves back together to face bitter rival Syracuse at home. The win could put them in prime position to open up conference play with good momentum.

The tough games were expected and know I have a good view as to were my team is. I play on coach mode btw with Definitive coach mode sliders.

How does everyone start their dynastys off? Do you just pick up the 2015 rosters and ignore the fact the game starts in 2013 so will always be two years out?

Re: How is your dynasty going

Starting a new dynasty with updated rosters as the defensive coordinator at Georgia State. I will handle recruiting to keep it realistic. I'm going to use strict rules in that regard. My first test? @ Oregon...

Re: How is your dynasty going

Started a dynasty over last week, as the OC at UMass. My house rules are :

1- No recruiting until I get a HC job.
2- When I get a HC job, I can only change schools if I get fired or after I win a NC (but I can opt to stay and win multiple NCs at one school before departing).
3- Once I get to recruiting prospects, I will abide by the following :
3a - No limit on prospects who have me at one of their top 3 schools
3b - No limit on in-town prospects
3c - I can recruit 1* over on home state / pipeline recruits
3d - I can only recruit at same level for every other state
4- No playing the games until I get a HC job (so as OC or DC, I only get to call the plays), after that it is at my discretion whether I play or coach.
Maybe I'll add some rules as I play, but these are the basics.

The UMass schedule was (ranks are at the time of playing) :

at Wisconsin - Lost 10-42
vs FCS East - Won 45-6
at #17 Kansas State - Won 27-24
vs #21 Vanderbilt - Won 35-38
vs Bowling Green - Won 35-14
at Buffalo - Lost 10-31
vs Western Michigan - Won 17-14
vs Miami University - Lost 23-28
at Northern Illinois - Won 31-7
vs Akron - Won 28-0
at Central Michigan - Won 17-14
at Ohio - Lost 7-45

Ended the season 8-4 (5-3), good for 4th in the MAC East, and a berth in the Russell Athletic Bowl against #14 Louisville :

Russell Athletic Bowl - Lost 34-40 in triple OT

Highlights of the season include my two early wins against #17 KSU and #21 Vanderbilt, a shutout over Akron in which they returned two fumbles for TDs, only to have the fumbles called back, and an epic bowl game against Louisville (actually my second ever time that a game went beyond 2OT). As for the NCAA, Johnny Manziel was named the Heisman winner, and his Texas A&M team trounced Notre Dame in the National Championship 52-28 the finish the season undefeated champions.

Coaching carousel came over, and I just have been offered a job as HC of the 3-9 Tulane, which I accepted. Time to move on to the AAC !
