Detroit Lions (Clay)

So i decided to come back and start all over again. It seems the Lions are a hard team to win with. Just the team i'm looking for. I kept the team intact and started pre-season. Didn't feel like playing out the pre-season so i delegated it and sim it right by to regular season.

I decided to create a coach and pounded skill points only on RB and DL. I'm hoping putting points on DL, it will help with them getting a pass rush and stop them from being cut blocked. I will not put any points in "Special Skills". I don't want to make the game too easy.

QB: J. Kitna will be my back-up. I went with QB: D. Stanton. I want to see with this kid has since i'm in rebuilding stage. I also started HB: K. Smith over R. Johnson, but they are getting shared carries. I'm using the "Rams" offensive" playbook and "Dallas" defensive playbook. I'm starting this team from scratch. If i'm here next season, i'll know who to keep and who to let go.

Let the games begin.

TRADE UPDATE

The Carolina Panthers offer the Lions a 2009 4th round pick for HB: R. Johnson. Lions accepted the offer since they have no 4th round pick in 2009, and also they are trying to get younger.

Lions, picked up HB: S. Gado in the FA market to replace R. Johnson.

NOTES

The Greenbay game was one of the toughest games I've played. I couldn't figure out the personnel greenbay was sending one the field. I was caught in the wrong defensive formations soooo many times. Greenbay had 5WR and i was stuck in 3-4 Base.

This "Glitch" of HC really needs to be fixed, patch, whatever you want to call it. It's F---ing pisses me off.

Rant over.

P.S.
I'm having the same F---ing problem in my game against SanFran.

I know what you are saying, I had a horrendous time against them with my Bears franchise, they laid like 200 rushing yards the first time around. Eventually I figured them out and now I completely own their offense, to the point that if feels almost unfair. This is what you need to do. They run out of the fullhouse formation (3 RB 1 WR and 1 TE) on almost all their first downs. What I do is set my DBs on 1 on 1 assignments and blitz all of my LBs and HB will almost always get dropped for a loss. After that they go 5WR spread on the next down, I counter this with 2 formations; One I come out of 4-1-7, I put the 4 Dline on top of the RT, RG, LG and LT and than on the out side I blitz 2 CBs and play man to man (if they send a WR in motion be careful because a CB might forget to cover him) sometimes I will give up a TD with this blitz but 90% its beastly. This almost always cause the QB to release the ball almost immediately and it turns into a incompletion and next play they will use the same 5 WR spread. The other formation that I use is a dime formation and replace the DEs with OLBs and send the entire defense on a cover 2 look (with 3 safeties deep) and let the DT play QB spy. The QB will stand there forever looking for an open man and hafl of the time he will make an incompletion, or try to run for it but the DT always gets him after 2 yards. This combination KILLS the Packers offense.

Note: The Lions are terrible..lol. I have a lot of work ahead of me. It didn't help much with my DC not calling the right personnel when on defense.
