Stangs New Dynasty

So I have started a new Career in HC and I thought I would get this new thread going. I hope that you guys follow along, I am going to attempt at 15 years for the same team (hopefully 15 straight SB wins...lol). Yeah I know that some may say its not so fun once you have a beast team and all but why would you be doing so well as a coach for a team and just leave?

Anyway I am using some house rules that were brought to my attention by burnum.

- No signing FA and trading them away for picks or other players
- No rookie trades... don't happen in real life won't happen here
- Only sign FA during season in order to fill holes due to injury/min req.
- No trading Franchise guys to replace them with a new rookie...
(you have Dane Morrow at QB but trade him so you can take Pryor)

These are the ground rules hope I can keep everyone's attention and win some games!

Re: Stangs New Dynasty

Have you picked a team, theme, and draft path yet? example: I want to do a run-based team with the redskins on the zazalli path sometime soon, with zazalli himself as "my RG3". Only problem is last time I tried that I had to purposely lose all 16 games in 2008 in order to be #1 and take Zazalli... and dan snyder fired me for losing all 16 games (like previous redskins coaches were doing any better...)

Re: Stangs New Dynasty

I'm gonna go for the Zazzali draftpath and have a power run based team with a running QB and McFadden. (hopefully)

Re: Stangs New Dynasty

Question to those reading about player trades...

Would you consider it to be realistic to trade most of your roster away in order to acquire half as many stud players in the process?

I personally believe that any means necessary to better the team would be paramount as the Head Coach, but I want to do a realistic approach. This first Season may mean that I suffer some cap penalties but I don't see why not try it out and see if it can work. What do you guys think?

Re: Stangs New Dynasty

Hey dude! Nice to see your starting a new dynasty. I started one on my own with the Chiefs as Herm Edwards as head coach. I started in the off season too. we went 9-7 with a playoff appearance

And to answer your question about trading. To me it doesn't seem realistic to do that. And it depends if anyone is interested in the players you want to trade. I know Larry Johnson and Tony Gonzales. But they are most of the talent.
