Who do you guys want the Chiefs to pursue in free agency? I wouldn't mind seeing them snag Corey Williams (DT/Green Bay).

The Chiefs have told four players -- including cornerback Ty Law -- that they would be released, sources told The Kansas City Star on Wednesday.

Law was a starter last season. Linebacker Kendrell Bell and defensive tackle James Reed are former starters, and tight end Jason Dunn was a key reserve. Law, Reed and Dunn are over 30; Bell will turn 30 in July.

The moves come following the release of offensive tackle John Welbourn and wide receiver Eddie Kennison, who are both over 30 and had contracts for the 2008 season.

The Chiefs are going to be making alot of cuts. With Kennison gone all they really have for recievers is Bowe. I hope they can keep Jared Allen. I know the placed a franchise tag on him. But Allen said if they were going to do that he would be gone. Also I expect Law and Surtain will possibly be gone. They have lots of cap room so hopefully the will pick up some good free agents and pickup some good draft picks.

The main concern I would have for the 2008 offseason, is that the number of quality free agents is limited. I think they said that the number of UFAs that started 8 games or more last year was under 80 this year. It may be a year to build thru a pretty strong draft class.

Allen said that if he had to play a regular season game under the tag then he'd never agree to a long-term deal with KC. I think the two sides will have a deal in place prior to the season opener.
