Apparently you have not seen the garbage defense that Tennessee put on the field last season.

Finished near the bottom of the league in just about every category.

Hasselbeck is past his prime and we overpaid for him.

I've seen the titans and I've seen the Seahawks with Matt under center. I watch a lot of football. Clearly, if things pan out like last year then nobody under center is going to help. But they aren't a 2 or 3 win team which is more reason for Locker to be better of sitting for a year or two. However, if everyone is healthy and they can have the running game they've had in the past with a competent vet at QB to keep the safeties honest, it's a better situation. Not to mention during a season where there's a new coaching staff, no OTA's and pretty much no real preseason. Bottom line is you don't like Hasselbeck. That's fine, but that's really all there is to this. I think he's better than you do.

Titans defense was fine when VY was the QB because he kept them off the field longer than collins by extending drives. but when when mr 3 and out (collins) was the QB the defense was gassed all the time and couldnt stay off the field. Now that Fisher and Collins is gone I think we will be better than what people expect

Re: The Official Tennessee Titans Thread

Tennessee's defensive ranks last season:

Total: 26th
Passing: 29th
Run: 20th

They just lost their best defender, Jason Babin, to the Eagles. And their second-best defender, Stephen Tulloch, is probably going somewhere else via free agency.

This defense is going to be putrid again in 2011 and will remain the Titans' number one problem.

Well, at least Barrett Ruud is a good signing.

But man, the defense line is going to be awful this season unless they have another move to make.

I think the D was terrible last year due to coaching. Cecil was horrible as a DC and couldn't make adjustments on the fly. They should be a bit better with Grey @ the helm.

And Babin was a journeyman until he met up with Washburn.

CB Ryan Mouton is already out for the season with an Achilles injury.
