Hey guys, I should be clear here. What I'm trying to work on for 360 is my own rosters that vary from snowdrift's. I have different created teams and I've done some edits to some players. So, I HAVE been following along the developments of getting the 360 saves to work but applying that to my own roster set BASED on snowdrift's set from mid February or so.
Also, I'm exploring the 360 so I can play with my own soundtrack but I'm having massive problems getting music on the 360 so I'm working on that first. If I can't get music on my 360 I'm not going to bother playing the 360 version. In addition to that, I can't seem to unlock the Classic Teams on 360 which will also impede me from playing on 360. So, IF I can get the music to work and IF I can then get the unlock to work for classic teams, THEN I will move on to trying to get the rosters to work. Otherwise it's a lot of effort lost if I don't end up playing on 360.
So, I'll try to get to it but just wanted to mention those complications and that I modified the roster a bit.

Hey Snowdrift I got an idea for ya.

If you've ever used FlyingFinn's ESPN NHL 2K5 editor, you know how you can fill in all of the names on the Historic Teams?

Would implementing something like that work for your NHL 2K8 editor?

Actually, I can answer this one, it's extremely complicated offering this kind of feature and he's mentioned before not being interested in offering it. Honestly, with how much his editor DOES offer, it's not a huge loss. Especially when there are roster files with the classic teams unlocked in the Vault thread.

NEW VERSION OF THE EDITOR (APRIL 6, 2018)

This update corrects issues with the spreadsheet import and export functions.

Bugs fixed:

- Fixed a major bug where exporting to a spreadsheet failed if there were players on the rosters of created teams.
- Fixed a bug where the user was not advised that an import had finished, unless there were errors to report.
- When importing from a spreadsheet, a player will now correctly be skipped if another player with the same name already exists in the save file.

Thanks to WWEDX2007 for reporting the first bug.

Re: NHL 2K8 Editor (Snowdrift)

Spreadsheet imports now, only one issue:

I get an error saying that 29 players were skipped for there not being enough PMK players and 3 players were skipped for there not being enough 2WY players.

Fine, I go into the game and make 29 PMKs and 3 2WYs, put it on the drive, re-convert the save to PS3. Re-import the spreadsheet and.....same error. what I am doing wrong here?

The editor will not erase roster players. That wouldn't make any sense as you would be randomly losing old players in order to gain new ones. Of course if your created players are in the free agents list or on a team, the editor will think they are players you want to keep.

When you import a spreadsheet, the editor only overwrites unused players it finds in the save file. What it's telling you is there aren't enough unused playmakers in the save file for the import to continue. If you want it to use your created players, you have to delete them first in the editor, then it will "see" them. Right-click them in the editor and choose "Delete." Then they'll be available to be overwritten.

One thing, though. If you change a player's type it will revert after one season. Even if you change it on the Create Player screen. There's a way around it but it's time-consuming. I explained this earlier in the thread. I'll just quote:
