Per a post on the BF2 EA blog:

Quote:
The update is applied to the servers, so there's nothing that needs to be downloaded. The guns' stats are still pulled from the game disc, not the servers, so they look the same, but are very different when you actually play

Onslaught mode is coming.

Quote:
Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI. Vehicle warfare comes to the forefront in Atacama Desert while Nelson Bay focuses squarely on infantry assault. Players can compete in squads and check individual progress via the dedicated Onslaught leaderboards.

I'll be looking forward to this.
No word on the cost for this DLC. I'm guessing $10.

Re: Battlefield 2: Bad Company and Battlefield 1943 announced

My one wish for this game before anyhting else is to fix the crappy servers as their is alot of rubberband lag. I have noticed as well the screen tends to do a quick flash from time to time which is annoying. I have played this game less and less as I can't stand how poorly it runs. It's a shame because it's a great game that's ruined by horrible servers. Dice could learn a few things from Zipper as MAG runs smoothly with little to no lag at all and that's with alot going on.

lol if one new game mode costs $10. This is what the VIP thing was made for. If it's separate DLC I'm certainly not paying for it, especially for one new game mode on the same old maps. Give us entirely new maps and I might consider paying for that DLC.
