Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?

I'm actually surprised at how well this game runs on my system. I have 16 GB RAM, a Ryzen 5 2600x and a RX 5600 XT, and I can run the game on high settings with no issues. A couple frame rate drops here and there, but I am getting around 20 to 30fps consistently, which wouldn't be great in most games, but I think it matters less in a game like this. I also turned some of the details up to ultra and had no real issues.

Quick question, should I leave V Sync on or turn it off?

Now if I could just find a reasonably priced HOTAS.

If you have a Gsync or Freesync monitor or 144hz, 165hz monitor turn Vsync off.

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?

After doing the OC and adjusting graphic settings (High on more important and medium less important I'm getting 45 to 120 FPS depending on where I'm at and what views.

8GB GTX1080 and 32 GB Ram. I7 6700K CPU

Spoiler

What I am currently doing with V-SYNC because seen it online Lol

"V-Sync
V-sync is a setting that syncs every frame the GPU generates and eliminates screen tearing. However, turn this setting off in-game and force it through the GPU driver. Enabling in-game v.sync introduces stutter in-game for some reason.

However, disabling in-game v-sync also takes away the ability to lock FPS. Worry not, you can do that through Nvidia Control Panel.

To force it through the GPU driver, open Nvidia Control Panel > Program Settings > select Microsoft Flight Simulator and set Vertical Syn to “On”.

Recommended: Turn it off in-game and force it through GPU driver"

Your 8GB laptop has a 1440p screen?

If it’s only 1080p, that’s why. RAM usage is significantly higher on higher resolution.

Has anyone flown into Hurricane Laura? It's absolutely awesome that the game has real world weather patterns. I'm really wishing that I had not procrastinated on finding a flight control setup.

Re: Any Microsoft Flight Simulator Fans Here?

I remember back in the day on Hewlett Packard cpu with flight simulator there was like a thick manual on how to actually understand all of the instruments.

Is there a site or resource available out there to where you can actually read to understand the cockpit instruments , proper checking and setting of instruments and for the communication protocols to use with the airfields?

I've enjoyed getting up in the air and landing but I am really interested in understanding and playing like a simulator rather than a video game I can relax in.
