And cons to the Motobecane?
It was given to me, so I got lucky in that regard.

As far as the bike, I love it. Handles great, smooth shifting, etc. I don't know a ton about bikes to get into fine details, but the only issue I have is the 26" tires.

If I'm turning the wheel and pedaling my foot makes contact with the front wheel. Almost like the wheel is to big for the distance between the pedal and tire.

It is possible the frame is too small.

How tall are you? How long is the frame from seat post to neck tube?

Also, make sure the placement of your foot on the pedal is correct.
The large pad just below your toes and before your arch should be what makes contact with the pedal.
You dont want your arch to be stretched over the pedal. That will create major strain on your feet.

5'11"

I wear cowboy boots 99% of the time even when hunting so yea that is most likely the issue lol. If I wore tennis shoes, I'm sure this would not be a issue.

Yeah! Definitely.

Measure the Seat Tube to the Neck Tube. It should be no shorter than 54 cm
If it is, your bike is too small. 52 cm minimum!

Most likely you should be in a 54 cm-56 cm frame. Or somewhere between 20"-22".

Re: Any cyclists/mountain bikers/commuters?

What are your guys opinions on bicycles from big box stores like Walmart? I'm looking to amp up my quad work this summer by getting a bicycle and bombing around town on a high gear.

Just curious about how durable they are, if anyone has experience. I looked around at places like Dick's, and the cheapest bike they have is around $300 for what appears to be only a decent bike. I don't want to break the bank, but I don't want a hunk of junk either.
