December 14, 2009 - As I was waking up this morning to go to work, I got a phone call on my cell. I checked the caller ID, and it didn't come up as someone in my phone book, so I let it go to voicemail. Once the call ended, I checked my voicemail, and what greeted me was a surprise.

"Hello, Mr. Snider, this is Carol Jennings of Blue Ridge PBS. We've recently been able to acquire the retired wrestling promotion called New River Valley Wrestling Association. We plan on showing a new wrestling show put on by this promotion during late night on Thursdays. We'd like you to call us back as soon as possible."

I dialed the number given to talk to Mrs. Jennings.

"Hello, Mrs. Jennings?"

"Ah, you must be Mr. Snider. I assume you are interested in our predicament?"

"Yes, I'm very interested. However, what do I have to do with all of this?"

"Well, let me get down to the point. We've read your dynasty for Virginia Pro Wrestling on Operation Sports."

"If you don't mind me asking, how did you see that?"

"Google."

"Ah. Continue."

"We were very impressed with it. I'd like to offer you the head booking job for NRVWA. You will be in charge of everything, including talent acquisition, and all of that."

"How much money will I have to start out with?"

"About 150k."

"Sounds great to me. When would you like me to start? I'll probably have to give my two weeks notice to my current employer."

"How about New Year's Day? You'll have an office here in Roanoke in a separate building from PBS. Once you get set up, we'll just air the show."

"You have a deal."

Baltimore: Welcome to NRVWA River Madness! We've got a really big show tonight, as we'll have a NRVWA World Championship match to crown our very first champion! In the match, we'll have Johnny Heartbreak taking on Sybernatico, and also Thomas Barr. Sounds like a hell of a match, if you ask me! Hope you enjoy the show!

Kurt Kastle is listening to some grunge rock, when Fast Eddie comes into the locker room and turns it off

Kastle: Hey man, what the hell? I was listening to that.

Eddie: That kind of music sucks, dude. Maybe you should go to Washington and go have a date with a sheep.

Kastle: What in the hell is your problem? I'm just minding my business, relaxing, and you come in here and mess my day up!

Eddie: You don't deserve to lick my boots.

Kastle: You know what? Why don't we take it in the ring, and we'll see who deserves what.

Kastle leaves, Eddie turns to the camera and shows off a grin reminscent of Edge

This was a serviceable match between these two. The match was pretty open ended, and as time ended, the two wrestlers were locked up in a grapple.

Backstage, we meet up with Thomas Barr, speaking with Alastair Sergeant

Thomas: Hey Alistair! Man, you're a big dude. Anyway, I have a big match tonight, and I'm against some good wrestlers, but they might both bring some kind of mayhem to the fight. What I'm trying to say is that I think it's best for me to have someone in my corner during the match to make sure I don't get my head knocked off with some brass knucks. You're the biggest dude in the locker room, and I think you'd be great at the job. Would you like to help me out?

In the backstage interview area, Johnny Heartbreak has a mic

Heartbreak: This is a big night tonight. Tonight, we start the Heartbreak era. If you're wondering what this means for NRVWA, well, it means that I'm going to be World Champion, and the ratings in the young lady demographic is going to skyrocket! There's nothing that ladies love more than my face, and the way I work in the ring. Each lady wants me to be their lover, but of course, they can't have me.

Heartbreak makes a "oops" face towards the camera

Heartbreak: I digress. Tonight, I'm going to face Sybernatico and Thomas Barr in a triple threat match. I just noticed that Barr decided to recruit Alastair Sergeant for his cause, so that big monster will be down at the ring for the match as well. I'm not worried, because I'm sure that the referee will disqualify Barr, which will make the match even easier for me. As for Sybernatico, well, he is the wildcard to this match. I've never even heard of him before today. No bother to me, as I can beat him too. I promise you: at the end of the show tonight, I will be your NRVWA World Champion.

Baltimore: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to announce another match for tonight, and it's for the NRVWA Television Championship! The match will start immediately, so let's not waste any time! First, welcome Mikey Batts!

Mikey Batts made his entrance, flipping a few times and sliding into the ring

Baltimore: Next, welcome The Awesome Seth!

The Awesome Seth comes out and yells at the fans along the entrance way, generally belittling them

Mikey Batts vs The Awesome Seth

This was another match that was pretty even. The major twist in the match occurred at the 6 minute mark, when Alastair Sergeant hit the ring and decimated The Awesome Seth. Once he left, Mikey jumped at the opportunity, pinning Seth at 6:37.

Johnny Heartbreak is walking backstage when he finds who he's looking for, Sybernatico

Heartbreak: Sy, can I call you Sy? Anyway, it seems to me we have a common enemy. We have to look out for each other out there so we don't find ourselves on the wrong end of Sergeant's boot.

Sybernatico: I agree, Jose.

Heartbreak: Excellent. Well, our match is next. Good luck.

Sybernatico: You too, hombre.

--Triple Threat Elimination--

This match was a slow match that built to a big finish. Alastair was ringside, and ended up distracting Sybernatico, but this backfired on Barr, as Heartbreak was pinning Barr. Barr was then eliminated, and Sybernatico was still distracted by Sergeant, and Heartbreak turned on Sybernatico, hit him with a devestating finishing move, and pinned Sybernatico to win at 13:09.
