A Padres/Phillies NLCS would certainly be fun (it's what I'm rooting for), but it exposes the problem inherent with continually increasing the number of postseason teams: in a short series, baseball results are more random than any other team sport. It's the reason why teams play 162 game seasons in the first place: it takes that long to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Like I said, fun for neutrals (and winners, of course), but the postseason is pretty much a series of coinflips.

That energy was insane at Petco. But I would have never believed that holding the Dodgers to 1 run was possible. I kept saying pads are gonna need more. But it was enough.

Umm, the Dodgers better come back to win. They're the champions this season, they won 111 games! Would be a shame for them to not win the WS and have people going "um, pretty sure the champion is the team that wins the World Series." No, pretty sure a team that wins 110 plus is the champ.

I’d like to see a Yankees vs Dodgers World Series, but if that’s not going to happen I want as many teams that got a bye to lose in this round as possible to hopefully prevent further expansion for the reason you listed
