The Phillies closed the book on the opportunity of a fairytale ending for the Cards and sent Pujols and Molina, and possibly Wainwright, riding into the sunset of retirement. Now they face the defending World Series Champions who have Acuna this time around. Can Rob Thompson take this club to a place Joe Girardi couldn't?

I'd say leaving 10 men on base + the other team having 9 hits with only 2 hits being hard contact is not a good recipe for success. Still plenty of game and series left.

Not too worried. We lost game 1 last year. The bats need to wake up. Not worried about Fired at all. He didn't even pitch that bad, really. The Phillies had a lot of BAIP luck in the first 4 innings. If they sustain that level of luck for the entire series it will be frustrating, but I can't imagine they will.
