Yeah, they have one of the worst systems in baseball. Maybe they could throw in Cowart or Cron...I don't know if that would do it though.

I like C^2 but that offer would likely get beat by a number of other teams.

I don't think the Rays would want a first baseman that struggles to post a .300 OBP that's going to make a ton of arb money due to sexy home run totals.

To be fair, Trumbo is a useful player in his own right who can hit for a good deal of power. He's an above average player, he just doesn't belong in a Price deal and Bourjos probably doesn't either. I don't see the Angels and Rays being a fit atm.

I know you'd be stupid not to 'ask' for more than you really think you can get, but this is nuts.

Free-agent right-hander Ervin Santana is seeking more than $100 million on a five-year deal, and righty Ricky Nolasco $80 million over the same term, according to major league sources.

Jays fans have been largely supportive of signing the career 100 xFIP- Santana. Hopefully this asking price will not only change their minds but remove a lot of possibility in us going after him.

The Rangers extended Martin Perez. The deal was 4 years, $12.5 million with 3 club options. Great deal for Texas.

I was never interested in Santana.

I've been hearing from some folks that the Jays should go after Saltalamachia (my one and only time I will try to type his full last name) and that idea mortifies me. I hope they don't touch him because while he puts up good offensive numbers his defense at the plate sucks. (though not as bad as Arencibia)
