Sources: White Sox are willing to move Gordon Beckham in the right deal now, but Jose Quintana remains unavailable.

Norris is a T20 or even T10 prospect right now. those prospect rankings aren't updated vividly.

Baseball America has Russell at #15.

Here's baseball America's updated rankings (as of yesterday). Russell @ 5, Norris @ 25.

Not arguing the fact Norris + Sanchez (who didn't crack the top 50 of that list above) + Pompey (who did @ #47) was too much for Samardzija, because it is. But when the reports came out, we all assumed it was just for Samardzija. Maybe that was the asking price for Shark + Hammel and we came down on that (slightly however, because we still got a T10 + a guy who is right outside the top 100 + Straily + a PTBNL). I just stated that is what we asked for, and none of us will know if a deal from TOR minus Sanchez was available unless AA comes out and says " ____ is what I offered."

Only way I would be ok with this is if something else is thrown in on the BoSox' side. As bad as Craig has been, there's no reason to trade a guy like him with such a team-friendly contract for an old and diminishing Jake Peavy.

Everything is still speculation at this point but I doubt any of Craig, Piscotty or Grichuk will be included for Peavy alone.

According to Ken Rosenthal Gruchik and Piscotty are a no go. Boston want's Craig in Return. Guess we'll wait and see on this. Jayson Stark is also reporting a deal might come together rather quickly.

If Boston gets a guy like Craig, my guess is they're eating a lot of Peavy's salary.

I mean it's only ~ $6.5 Mil for the rest of this season. Even if they ate a bunch of that, trading a bat that has been a staple in our lineup for a guy who will be our #5 starter would be unwise IMO. Especially since the problem the Cards' have had so far have been offensively.

Yes, Craig has been bad this year (I've been at the forefront of his bashing), but it's not like he's a free agent and we want to get something for him before he leaves. The guy signed a 5 year $31 Mil contract before last year. Trading him would be the ultimate sell-low, and that just isn't Mo's forte.

If Craig is indeed involved, I expect to get something along with Peavy.
