Why? Odd trade...a 37 year old pitcher coming off TJ.

NM - didn't realize the other guy was a prospect.

Arizona just drafted this guy in the 1st round last year (HS pitcher).........

And we get him for Phil Gosselin? I love John Hart but he can't be that good, right? Something's fishy.

It's a requirement now that any pitcher we acquire be coming off TJ surgery.

Edit: NM, Arroyo isn't expected back until at least August.

Yea I just saw Showtyme post this in this week's games thread. And I was confused as well. Something has to be up with Touki.

Re: 2015 MLB Trade Deadline

The Braves are kind of stock piling young arms, similar to the Mets except that most of these guys project to be mid rotation pitchers as opposed to potential aces. John Hart has been very arctic so far as a GM, so even though th Braves don't have much left to sell, I don't think they are done making moves yet

Also will be interesting to see what the Padres do at the deadline. Things aren't really going as planned and they don't have that much left in their farm system to get a game changer for this year

On a recent Dbacks telecast Dave Stewert said the pitchers the Dbacks recently drafted are ahead of Touki on the depth chart per say which made him expendable and Toussaint wasn't Stewart's pick that was their previous GM's draft pick. Braves essentially paid $10 million for Toussaint.

Re: 2015 MLB Trade Deadline

Read on MLB trade rumors that Toronto is looking at Grilli for bullpen help.

I doubt we get rid of players though being we're still very much in contention.
