2015 MLB Trade Deadline

With deadline just over a month away, you know teams will start making deals around midway point in season. So go ahead and post rumors, ideas, completed deals or anything related to that.

Phillies for example will be a team to watch, cause they need to turn things around, but have so much salary on their team and little prospect depth,it'll be hard for them to do so. Hamels and Papelbon are 2 guys who seem most likely to draw interest.

Brewers are another team who could be likely to deal guys. 19 games below .500,surely they'll start to sell. They got Garza making 12.5M next 2 seasons with 13M vesting option in 2018. Not a guy a team around 20 games below .500 would really want/need to keep. And also have K-Rod in bullpen,5.5M next year and 7MTO in 2017.

Jays have been linked to Papelbon for awhile, but have also contacted Brewers about K-Rod. I'm sure they'd have interest in Garza also(who has lots of experience vs AL East). So maybe they could try and go after both since both guys fill needs Jays have right now. At very least, maybe something like K-Rod for Mitch Nay(Jays 8th ranked prospect, their 2nd best ranked IF)

I've heard the K-Rod rumor as well and I agree with you, I wouldn't mind a Garza/K-Rod deal involving a high end prospect like Nay and some filler somewhere else.

Re: 2015 MLB Trade Deadline

After the A's implosion last year...I'm very curious if the teams will take the subsequent learnings into consideration.

I think Philly will get rid of everybody; there's no reason to keep them. Only player I suspect will stay is Utley because they think he may be a HOF player and want him to stay a Phillie.

I'm interested also in Houston/Chicago and what they'll do...they've been stock-piling loads of prospects so I wonder if they'll go for it all or continue to work on development and take a "if we get there, we get there" approach.

Utley will stay. He has already said that he doesn't want to leave and he has a full NTC because he has those 10/5 rights. Also I can't see the Phillies getting that much for him. Howard may also stay as well because of his contract being so bad, unless those reports are true about them eating his contract to where the team getting him has to pay $10 million.

Braves need bullpen arms and another consistent bat would be pretty nice. Hope we can find a way to get rid of Chris Johnson.

Re: 2015 MLB Trade Deadline

Will be interesting to see where Cueto goes. It seems inevitable with the Reds out of it that they will move him.... speculation that the Tigers may be buyers. Although it's only speculation and I for one don't know who the Tigers could move that would make the Reds part with Cueto (although the trade for Price last season was basically for peanuts... Smyly is OK). Even then, this season has me wondering if we can even make the playoffs let alone compete IN the playoffs. Then could we resign him? I'd rather pony up the money to sign Price and take a look at some of the free agents.

The only Phillies that should be on this team right now are Maikel Franco and Ken Giles. Everyone else can leave.

Braves acquire Bronson Arroyo and Touki Toussaint in exchange for Phil Gosselin.
