LOL if the Cubs lose in heartbreaking fashion Rubin will have to go into the Witness Protection Program!

I mean....it's not like the Indians won two years ago.

Right, because as a Boston sports fan I am obliged to cheer for every long suffering fanbase. You got it, man.

I know they have a big drought too, but the Cubs is super long. I'm fine with whoever wins.

Re: 2016 World Series: Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians

Handicapping this series...

Although Cleveland has a far better bullpen than either SF or LA, their starting rotation is a level or two below what the Cubs have had to face so far. Kluber is very good. Bauer (if possible), Tomlin, and Merritt is no Cueto/Moore/Hill. Some of those guys have very good breaking pitches though and it'll be interesting to see how the Cubs fare against them if they can locate it.

Conversely, the Cubs pitching is way above what Cleveland has seen so far from Boston and Toronto.

I expect this to be a series of momentum and whichever team wins Game 1 looks to be very dangerous and likely to win in 4 or 5 games. Neither team has lost a Game 1 in this postseason.

For those rooting against the Cubs because the fanbase would grow to be Red Sox Nation on steroids-level of bandwagon, you're so right. It will. That's a horror that I'm willing to suffer through.

As for rooting against Cleveland...were I not a Cubs fan, I'd probably be inclined to root against Cleveland so that LeBron James doesn't get the opportunity to come off as some sort of Cleveland Indians super fan when he was clearly and openly repping the Yankees just a few years ago. That would be pretty annoying for the media to gobble up that narrative. As for the Indians team themselves, I have nothing against them.

LeBron James is the last thing I consider when talking and thinking about baseball.
