Looks like the Mets can score again. Should be a fun series in Atlanta starting Monday

I do not understand how professional baseball players can be so bad at running the bases.

Re: 6/27 - 7/10 Game Discussion Thread

I only now just finished the Giants-Padres game this morning, but wow did anybody else see Jurickson Profar's injury last night?

Also related to the game... the Padres won on a walk-off ground rule double with the bases loaded when the game was tied. If this was a walk-off home run, the final score would have been 5-1. How come the final score here is 2-1 instead of 3-1? I'll have to find a way to get a camera angle with it, but I imagine the runner on third would have tagged up on the play as an ultimate caution, so he likely didn't cross home plate until the ball hit the ground and went out of play anyway.

I can see the only exception to this might just be that the baserunners didn't actually touch the required bases to score it unlike what you'd see in a home run, but I'm wondering even if they did if it would be allowed to be considered a statistical two-run double.

Thanks to anyone who may know the answer here.

Home runs are the exemption to the rule that as soon as the home team takes the lead in the bottom of the 9th or extra innings, the game ends

Wtf is with all these umps calling balls at the ankles this year.

Matt Carpenter. All he does is hit. Boone must of listened to me. He's been in the lineup every day since I bitched about his PT.
