He's not a bum but we know that contract was as much a business decision because he's exciting as it was a basketball decision. There's a large "fun to watch" component to that contract.

I actually think that is a media-driven thing. He has never given the impression that he wants to leave. He likes being the "man" and the fans never fully turned on him.

But also the team has to consider moving on him Embiid, if it's another 2nd round exit. Listen, I understand you don't trade superstars if they don't ask out and that it is bad for business, but his trade value won't be any higher than it would be after next year. Unless Embiid finally takes conditioning and staying in good shape, I don't see him aging well.
