I know someone already brought it up, but if fans don't get Tony Montana screaming out "Fly, pelican, fly" during crunch time timeouts to get the crowd bumping, it will be an injustice to the world.

Pelicans are an awful name for a team.

So is Thunder. But whatever. None of these conversations and discussions will matter down the line.

I mean, the same people that I've heard say Pelicans is terrible have suggested names like Mudbugs and Vampires.

So, I'm already over it.

I'm sure this has been repeated...but I haven't said it yet and I reserve the right to say it because I actually live in the state.

The Pelicans are an awful ****ing name.

There. I'm done.

Can we stop with the 'so is blank' logic behind going with the Pelicans name? There is a significant difference between saying 'hey did you catch the Thunder game last night?' and 'hey did you catch that Pelicans game last night?' Yes there are some ****ty names in sports right now, but they all at least eventually roll off the tongue fairly well for a professional sports team. Pelicans will never fit.
