2019 hasn't been kind to NOLA sports fans between the Saints getting screwed in the NFC Championship and now this. My boy here at work and I have opposing views on the timing of this. I think that this came out now because AD is trying to force his way to L.A. before Boston can throw their hat in the ring. And my boy says that none of the reports say that AD wants out now. He thinks that AD is just letting Demps know his intentions so he don't blow the teams future by trading 1st for a marginal player to play with AD now. Me thinks he saying this because he wants Tatum over what L.A. is going to offer.

Yes and no. Yes we’ve all anticipated this and yes they probably should have been making calls, but at the same time if you’re a front office, can you really “work the phones” with your superstar player in your small market city who hasn’t said or done anything to you about not wanting to be there and have it get leaked out to the media that YOU’RE trying to trade HIM and any hope of him staying went out the window because he found out on ESPN that you were shopping him? You really want to give the player the power to shape the narrative about his departure and put yourself on the fans’ hot seat with every move you make moving forward because you’re the front office that chased the superstar away?
