It all comes down to Ben being able to run away from pressure, and save his porous oline and pathetic OC from looking like the chumps they all are.
In the wins, he was able to get away from the persistent pressure and make plays. His line stinks,
30 sacks says is all (could easily be 50 if not for Ben's escabability), and the playcalling consistenly places him in 3rd and long.
For the Steelers to succeed it all comes down to 3 questions:
1- Can Ben run away from the pressure all game long?
2- Can Ben keep drives alive on 3rd and long pass plays?
3- Can the Special Teams stop any return man?
The oline has regressed to the point that Parker is getting about 2-3 yards on 90% of his carries. It also doesn't help that Parker's vision is lacking, and he falls down on first contact.
Here's the oline in a nutshell: LT is a turnstile. LG is the best they have but having a down year, he's also too busy trying to block everyone else the other's can't. C is a backup at best who's still learning how to snap the ball. RG is busy trying to break the league's penalty records, while other times blocking air. RT is getting manhandled every game to the point of embarassment.
Hey Jets fans, great win by the way. Mangini had a perfect gameplan, and it showed. Very deserving, and best of luck for you guys to turn things around.
