Javon Walker to Oakland...

Now we know why the raiders suck so much, if you didn't already

They pay 55 million to a guy who has missed 23 of his last 48 games. The thing that gets me is 16 guarantees and 27 in the first three years?

I have a hard time believing that anyone would even pay close to this for him.

Two things died that fateful night in Denver, D. Williams and Walker's career, can't blame the guy, that type of thing would have to affect him. RIP D. Williams.

Re: Javon Walker to Oakland...

Al doesn't care about spending money, he's tired of losing so it's time to take some risks.

Now we have a true #1 WR on our roster. Prior to this signing we had two active WR's remaining, Ronald Curry and Johnnie Lee Higgins (). We desperately needed a guy like Walker because when healthy, he's a legitimate threat in all phases of the game.

Now all we have to do is sure-up the run-D (Ellis or Dorsey) and draft a complimentary WR in the 2ND (James Hardy or Early Doucett) and we'll be ready to make a playoff run in '08.

Can't say I'm a fan of this move, especially if his knee really is done.

Re: Javon Walker to Oakland...

They had to do something at the WR position, so I guess this was just about their only option.

I was unrealistically hoping they could swing a trade for Roy Williams, but this is probably as good as it's going to get.

Didn't realize Oakland was so close.
