Just like in the 80s and early 90s.
And if you are an Eagles fan,
you should be scared ****less!
Those were the good ol' days when I was a kid, care-free and naive. And could concentrate on football.
If I recall right, the Giants and Redskins ruled and kicked ***. Dallas came on in '91. And no matter what, the Eagles were good, but weren't good enough. Meanwhile, the other teams in the division were full of playmakers. Thank God the Cardinals were in there, huh?
History is repeating itself. The cycle has returned and it's friggin' deja vu.
Dallas is playmaker city. The Giants kick *** and take names. And the 'Skins are back and running the ball with the best of them.
Meanwhile, the poor Birds seem to falling apart at the seams. Good enough to beat the "meh" teams, but can't finish against the good teams.
Sound familiar, eh?
From the look of things, Eagles FO are stuck in the time portal when the division was weak, besides the Giants. Not giving a damn about having a legit tight end or fullback............and receivers. Thinking that they can get away with not spending on important cogs on a team and still trash through the division.
Happen ain't gonna.
And that is why if I was an Eagles fan, I'd be highly pissed, sad and drinking today.
You heard it before and whoever you heard from were correct: The Eagles really should've capitalized on a weak NFC East while they had the chance and won a Super Bowl or two. Because everyone with a brain knew that the NFC East wasn't going to be weak for long. Three of the best franchises ever in football in one division. Did the Eagles think these teams would stay bad forever?
Dummies.
Memo to Jeff Lurie, Joe Banner and Andy Reid...
The window has officially closed. Nice, snug and curtains shut.
Have a good day
