lol jeez they have the ratings already? looks like he got jipped with speed and strength

he wont have any trouble getting it to the endzone though. Hell, kickers with 65 Kpw can kick it to the endzone every time in Madden

This picture is worth at least 1,000 words, but I had to track down fifth-round kicker/special teams dude David Buehler for an explanation.

The photo, which was landed in my email inbox via his Facebook page today, was taken after the Cowboys drafted him Sunday. He held a draft party at his mother's best friend's house, and she owns a few mini-horses. (Not ponies. Mini-horses. "A pony is a baby horse," Buehler explained. "A mini-horse is like a midget.")
How better to celebrate becoming a Cowboy than to grab a 10-gallon foam hat and Nerf football, put on a Cowboys T-shirt, hop on a mini-horse and flash a peace sign?

"It just so happened that I was at the right house to be drafted by the Cowboys," Buehler said.

Interesting you bring up multi-dimensional. Graham Gano was undrafted despite having punted since 2006 and only took over as a field goal specialist his Senior year where he caused all of us Florida State Seminole fans to cry when he left because we hadn't had a kicker like Gano before ... you know, the kinds that are accurate, even under pressure situations.

Gano was a kickoff specialist in 2005. Took over as the Punter in 2006. Took over as the Field Goal Specialist in 2008. The guy was the every-man on special teams. Yes, he could even tackle ... though he was no Buehler, he still had the ability and the balls of a black rhino to make a saving tackle here and there.

Anyways, the more I read about Buehler, I still don't like the pick but I understand the pick. I can only hope that he succeeds because otherwise it would be a wasted draft choice. If he can put our defense in better position to succeed, then I'm all for it.

Re: Kicker David Buehler: interesting pick

Our special teams were horrible. The big kick return was always one step away. Jimmy Johnson use to say that a team have to win at least 2 out of the 3 (offense, defense, and special teams) last year we lost on special teams.

Re: Kicker David Buehler: interesting pick

I was pretty confused by this pick also (I hadn't really researched this year's prospects) but after reading this thread, it makes some sense. Obviously, if he could get some touchbacks its already a positive! As much as I love Folk, he was horrible on kickoffs. BTW, I would like to see this Buehler guy hit. He seems like a pretty tough fellow.

PS That picture is gold! Mini Horses!
