Also, the Patriots on defence now are very, very young. I think there is only 1 starter in his 30's( Adelius Thomas). the older guys have either retired or have benn traded/free agent. You may see more 4-3 this season because there is a lot of depth on the d-line compared to the LB core. I think Belicheck expects to score a lot of points early in games and force other teams to become pass exclusive. He then will put his pass rush specialists in(Burgess, Banta-Cain) and go nuts with the pass rush. Makes sense to me. And like I said, the pick will be traded unless Belicheck gets the one guy he wants.
Shaun Springs is 34. And I think they might start Burgess who is like 31 or 32. But yea other than those 3, including Thomas, they're pretty young defensively.

Re: Seymour traded

yeah your right Revis. Not sure if Springs will start but he will play some. With Burgess, it depends. in a 4-3, he will play at end but I think in 3-4 he will only play on pass downs as a rusher. then when teams have to pass, Belicheck has had 2-4-5 or a 1-5-5 to confuse the opposing QB.

I would think they would start Springs. Idk who else they would go with. The other 2 corners I know that they have are Leigh Bodden and rookie Darius Butler. I'd think out of that bunch, Springs will be their #1 CB.

Re: Seymour traded

Didn't the Raider trade Derick Burgess to them and now they trade Seymour to them? Kinda interesting.

I think Wilfork is the hardest to replace for their 2 gap 3-4 scheme but for a team that run a 3-4/4-3 scheme it may take 2 players to take the place of Seymour.

From the looks of pre-season, I think Jonathan Wilhite will be one corner. Perhaps Butler or Bodden will be the other.

My guess is Bodden. Wheatley continues to disappoint thus far.

Why not Shaun Springs? Is no longer the same as he used to be or what?
