Oh I agree. I wasn't picking on your list or anything like that because I agree with what you said(good thread BTW).

I got to go offense.the patriots and colts where two most dominating teams last decade proving dominating offenses equal victories in bunches.

The Patriots didn't have a dominating offense when they won their championships. They relied on their defense first and foremost, with clutch QB play at the end.

And the NFL uses total yards allowed on defense for it's official ranking. There are different ideologies on this. I know Jim Johnson thought yards allowed was useless, that only points allowed told the story, but there it is.

General thought with that in mind, it's easier to bring in the replaceable parts on defense than it is on offense. That goes back to the points some of us made on drafting defensive players vs top tier skilled offensive players, especially QBs.
Ed Reed wasn't on the super bowl team?

that's what i thought, thanks for clarity. as it stands, i think we still have a pretty accurate summation of the best offenses and defenses from the past ten years, with the conclusion being that they're about even in terms of ease to build and sustain.

It depends on who you have playing quarterback.

If you have a good one, you can build an entire franchise around that one guy, for the next 15 years. (Colts)

I think it is easier, in general to build a offense.

The rules favor the wide recievers and the QB.

You have guys who arent that good completing 60+ percent of their passes now.

Plus the guys that you need to play good, steady defense, every week, dont grow on trees: Edge rushers, cover corners, versatile safety, and a MLB that you dont have to yank off of the field on 3rd down, dont grow on trees.
