LOL. Sub par on defense not on offense. He had the best WR's duo in college and the best pass catching TE ,and a pretty experience OL. Clausen really didnt show outstanding arm strength or accuracy in college. His biggest asset was his knowledge of reading defense's and running a pro-style offense.

One of the two receivers was consistently hurt. Rudloph was good. And just because he had an experienced O-Line, weren't some of them on the team that gave up the most sacks ever at Notre Dame? And don't get me started on the fact that he never had a 700 yard rusher. Throw all that together, I wouldn't say that's exactly very good. And, if his defense didn't suck, he would have won more games because he as a very good leader. Oh, and let's not forget he had the best Junior season out of a company like Big Ben, Peyton, Rivers and so on.

Yep, Clausen sure did suck.

Only thing subpar was his level of competition. "Jumpball" Jimmy was carried by Tate, Floyd and Rudloph(especially Tate). There is a reason he was projected in the 1st and didnt go until the 2nd.

Same reason Aaron Rodgers was projected possible #1 overall and didn't go til the end of the 1st?

Let Clausen get some actual PT before we say he isn't going to be successful in the NFL. I think he can do it. Maybe he won't. Maybe he will.

Really? You really want to compare Jimmy Clausen to Ben, Manning or Rivers?

Rivers played in the ACC and led his team to 4 Bowl wins and was the MVP of every Bowl Game he played in.

Manning did what he did in the SEC..

Tell me one thing. When did Jimmy Clausen ever step up big time against big time competition? When did he ever lead his team to a big time victory?

All those sacks weren't on the offensive line. A lot of them resulted due to him being indecisive and holding on to the ball too long.

ND didn't have a 700 yard rusher, because they refused to run the ball. That's like saying Dan Marino never had a 1,000 yard rusher in the NFL.

It's all the same Brady Quinn arguments all over again.

People please stop defending Jimmy. BK has enough ammunition to destroy any argument you ever can think of.

Seriously.

Clearly I'm pro-Clausen because of my ties, and I really hope he does well. But you guys really can't defend him because he just didn't come up big when needed. However that can be said about the entire ND program. They just haven't had any big wins over the past several seasons.

So yea Clausen supporters just sit back and watch and do whatever you need to do to will him to some success!
