Cassel had a good season statistically but given the schedule against which those stats were compiled, it means little. The bothersome thing is, from an intangibles standpoint, he completely regressed in the last two games. He was practically the same Cassel from '09 and early '10. He's absolutely worthless if the Chiefs aren't leading, especially against good teams. Instead of thriving in adverse situations and exhibiting some sort of will to win, he folds - takes sacks, makes horrible throws, quits on himself, no leadership or confidence. Bottomline - I don't know if he needs to be replaced but the Chiefs would be wise to have a good 2nd option at QB and somebody who could legitimately push Cassel for a starting job.

Just read on ESPN that the Chiefs are interested in Broncos OC Mike McCoy. If that's the case then Orton coming to KC becomes a real possibility.

Yep. A training camp battle between those two would only improve the team at a very key position.

I don't think he would sign with the Chiefs if he was released tho. He feels he deserves to start an I don't think he wants to go to a team that he would have to battle for the starting position (Chiefs). Seeing as how they have a ton of money invested in Cassel, they would give Cassel every opportunity to start even if Orton was to outplay him in say the pre season imo.

Orton wont be getting released. *That is hoping Elway and Co. aren't completely stupid*

49ers, Vikings, Cardinals, Titans. Thats the short list to look for him to get dealt to, not to walk on as a free agent- he is under contract.
