Re: Blaine Gabbert vs. Cam Newton

All in all it's not a good year to be a team looking to draft a franchise QB. If forced to choose I would reluctantly take Gabbert, but I don't believe either of these guys will amount to much in the NFL.

From the 'negatives' section on Newton by Nolan Nawrocki. I'm not sure how respected and connected Nawrocki is, but DAMN:

If accurate - not exactly what I would want in a QB for my team.
Yeah, that kind of stuff kind of annoys me. Is he some sort of qualified psychiatrist or is he supposed to be analyzing Cam's ability to play football? I'm pretty sure there are a lot of self entitled, disingenous players in the NFL who do just fine.

Perhaps--but I'll betcha they aren't QB's.

Re: Blaine Gabbert vs. Cam Newton

I'm not saying Newton will turn out to be a good QB, but the comparison to Gabbert is laughable. I honestly think people don't want to like Cam and that's increasing Blaine's draft stock.

Where the hell did Blaine come from? Seriously, how does a guy's draft stock take off like a rocket without a sick combine or insane measurables?

I hate to say it but his evaluation is usually on point. I been reading PFW guides since the mid 90's and going back his stuff is really on point.

PS

I am scared of one year starters that can't stay out of drama.

Just from the impression I get from Cam I kind of agree with that evaluation. There is nothing about his action since all the drama that makes me think he's changed, but like somebody pointed out most pro players are self absorbed. The question for me isn't his attitude it's his work ethics that matter most.
