This is the first I've even heard of it. His diabetes hasnt stopped him in the league so why would anyone hold that against him?

I understand the Jay Cutler hate bandwagon, but why Phillip Rivers?

That's what I'm saying. That's a terrible reason to hate someone, let alone joke around about hating someone for having Diabetes.

He said they both come off as douches, which they do.

I like Cutler more than Rivers. Rivers is obviously a better player though.

He's a douche, he's a crybaby, i don't like his face, and he has the tools to be a great QB but is above average at best.

Re: Why do people hate Jay Cutler so much?

For me, it's the fact that he's a turnover machine (79 INT and 43 fumbles in 68 games), and every Bronco fan I knew compared him to Elway when he was drafted, and said that he was going to be the greatest QB in the league within a few years, yet until last year, he hadn't had a season above .500 since high school (in the NFL, he's 34-34 even after last year).

His perceived attitude just makes it easier to not like him.

Come on man, this is YOU making this a big deal. The post you just quoted was in response to the idea that he wasn't tough (basically saying he's played at a pretty high level DESPITE the diabetes). Nobody here or anywhere else has ever even hinted at not liking him bc he has diabetes.

Ironic actually. It started when the cameras showed Rivers in a jawing match with (guess who) Cutler. Cutler was crying like a baby and I believe said something to Rivers during the game and Rivers yelled back "scoreboard" or something to that effect. For whatever reason, Rivers got labeled and Cutler got a pass.

Then (I think this was against Denver too but BK or someone will correct me if I'm wrong) Rivers got hurt in another game and the fans were cheering him leaving the game. He yelled to the fans "I'll be back" or something like that, and that was on par with Vick giving the fans the finger or other bad acts. I've never understood the label of Rivers and never will so I just leave it alone. But Cutler's always acted like an immature brat. Started with him (it wasn't the fans or the media, it was him) comparing his arm to Elway, continued with the mini temper tantrums and pouting when things weren't going well, showing up the owner (forget McDaniels... this began before he even got hired) when Shannahan was fired and eventually forcing a trade, with all the lies and other acts along the way. It really amazes me that this guy is compared to Rivers at all.

The first incident was a MNF game. Both teams were jawing, and the cameras caught Rivers and Shaun Phillips laughing at Cutler. It looked like he was waving and saying, "Bye bye!"

The second incident was against the Colts in the playoffs after the 07 season.

Rivers has always had fun with it, but Cutler took it a little more seriously.
