Yes. Note that wouldn't be the first time. Goal posts used to be on the goaline.

Minimal is better than nothing. Heaven forbid we ever question the incredible game managers we have running NFL sidelines.

That's a huge over generalization.

MMQB's and armchair quarterbacks? Lol, just say you don't think the change is necessary.

I can understand that. You don't want your million dollar receiver getting jacked up by a goal post.

Re: NFL Off Topic

If I wanted to say that, I'd say that in the first place.

My issue is how exactly is this improving the game? I'm all for moves as long as it's improving the on field product and I don't see how this does but I also don't see how it's hurting it either.

Didn't they experiment with moving the XPs back in the preseason and fans thought it would make Coaches for 2 even more and yet they still settled for the XP?

Personally I thought that was stupid and took away from the game. This is something I don't think takes away from the game at all. So if it improves even only slightly, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it. The only people it'd have a big impact on are kickers and whoever has to buy all the new goal posts.

I've stated that I think it could help by making field goals less automatic. I wouldn't be hoping for anything beyond that but it could happen.

What do you think it could hurt?

I just find it odd that we all bitch (justifiably) about changes being too favorable towards the offense but now something that could be used to counter that and we against it because there is no immediate tangible benefit?

I don't have a problem with the move. I have more of a "What's the point?" feeling to this. And I also don't buy that it will make Coaches want be more aggressive as far as when it's appropriate to go for it.
