Re: NFL Off Topic

The NFL probably has it the most right of the 4 major sports, so it's not broken. But adding 1 more per conference won't break it either. I like it as a fan and as a business decision.

Re: NFL Off Topic

I had posted about Goodell wanting to make changes earlier in the week and as I said then, I don't like it. This is just going to further dillute the product.

I disagree with that diluting the product spiel. Adding teams to the league dilutes the product.

The playoffs are a different monster. You could add 2/3 of the league and it would still be awesome because it's the situation, not the quality of the teams. Win or go home.

The NHL has over half the league in its playoff format, yet it's the best, most intense of the major sports. And that's with 7 game series too!

I'm glad you see it that way but if a 7-9 team somehow wins a SB you know there'll be a lot of crying from people.

The NHL playoffs are not the best. Like the NBA, the first few rounds are already settled before they are played. MLB and NFL have the two best formats. It keeps the best teams in the game and the middle of the field of bad teams are gone.

Crying because their team lost yes. If a 7-9 teams wins the superbowl what does that say about the league?

Re: NFL Off Topic

Good for business, not something I'd want to see as a fan. I like things the way they are.

First few rounds of the NHL playoffs are anything but already set before being played.

I've no issue with a 7-9 team winning, I have an issue with a 7-9 team getting blown out in a relatively uncompetitive ball game in the "wild card" round.

Buffalo went 9-7 in 2004 but they had no business in the playoffs that year. That is what an expanded playoff will look like.
