Re: Greg Schiano 'cheap shot' question

This is why I cannot stand these unwritten rules/codes that's still around.

QB: Hey guys, just letting you know that we're going to take a knee right here:

Defensive Player: Oh ok, go right ahead. Doesn't mean I'm going to stand there and let you do it nor does it state in the rulebook that I'm not allowed to make an attempt to get the ball back.

People can call him all kinds of names and bring up his past and whatnot but the FACT of the matter is that he did not break any rules.

Lost the game. But didn't break a single rule in that situation.

This reminds me of when Belichick was catching flak from people about not having any "class"(don't even get me started on this)for running up the score on teams in 07.

Re: Greg Schiano 'cheap shot' question

I think it was stupid to do so, but I don't necessarily consider it cheap.

This is a completely different situation.
I'd heard on the radio that it was A kneel down. My mistake. I think i reemember a Cincinnati QB doing that as well...

LOL @ the Bucs having a franchise quarterback. Freeman is alright, but he isn't Eli.

Re: Greg Schiano 'cheap shot' question

It was a cheap shot in my eyes. Had the Bucs not been victim to one of Eli's miraculous come from behind victories they'd have just accepted it. This was a child being a sore loser.

If the Bucs had gotten the ball back, it'd changed nothing. They'd have just as many people still saying yes it was cheap... And just as many saying it wasn't.

The problem is what would have happened if someone did get hurt? Teams can run up the score in the NFL (See the Saints last season destroying the Falcons for evidence.), but that doesn't make it "OK". It's disrespectful, shows a lack of sportsmanship, and makes your whole organization look bad.

Edit: To all the people saying it broke no rules... Things don't need to break rules to be wrong.

You missed the point completely.

I am also sure he'd rather have Freeman starting than Orlovsky.

Re: Greg Schiano 'cheap shot' question

If the Bucs had recovered a fumble by doing this, would it have still been called a cheap shot?
