I think the Pats pull it off but it won't be a pretty win. I just don't think Geno is as good as EJ as far as polish and being coached up goes.

I'll be watching the game and expect a 20-17 type of game.

LOL.

And why is that?

Geno came from a much more complex system in WVU and is playing for one of the best offensive coordinators in the past 10 years.

EJ ran a read option for the majority of the game and most of his passes were dink & dunks. Geno threw 38 passes, many of them out of the pocket.

But do tell.

Agreed. Manuel didn't throw it down the field much, but he was efficient, poised, and throws a pretty ball. Geno didn't look nearly as good as his passing yards make it look IMO.

Not to mention, it's hard to really argue with Manuel not having a single turnover through all of the preseason games and Week 1, while Geno played in like 2 preseason games and has already turned it over at least 5 times in those 2 + the regular season game.

Defensive much?

I'm not saying Geno isn't going to be a good QB but rather that he hasn't got the polish to his game yet. Remember, this is the same QB that Rex Ryan said had a disastrous day in camp during the preseason. The Jets' situation is pretty volatile and not exactly an environment that i'd want a young first year QB to be thrust into the limelight in.

You said Geno made many of passes out of the pocket? Well EJ didn't HAVE to go running around out of the pocket as the Bills O-Line played pretty well for the most part. I'd take a guy with the mobility of Manuel running when he has to over someone who has to run around to extend plays.

Hell, I could be totally wrong here and in 3 years it'll be EJ Manuel in a backup role somewhere with little prospect of being an elite QB while Smith is on top of the world.

Besides as a Bills fan i'm supposed to take everything the Jets do with a huge grain of salt and hexing them to failure

Counting on Geno Smith to commit a couple turnovers tonight. Brady and the offense are going to need all the help they can get tonight. Defense is going to have to step up. Must get off the field on 3rd downs. None of this bend but don't break stuff. Chandler Jones must make his presence felt in the Jets backfield.

Expecting a grind it out low scoring game. Rex has had success confusing Brady in the past and tonight should be no different. Just gotta hope the rookie QB makes rookie QB mistakes.

Jets - 23
Patriots - 17

Almost forgot the most important news for tonight's game. CeeLo Green will thankfully not be back to do the Thursday Night Football opening. So we no longer have to suffer through that god awful Ramones cover ever again. Instead Priyanka Chopra will be our lead in.

Really just need Brady to make less mistakes than he did in week 1. Recently it's seemed like the Bills have done a better job of getting him to turn it over than anyone including the Jets. I think he has an efficient game which would be good enough. The Jets will need a couple of Pat mishaps to take this one, even with all the injuries.

I think this game is going to be much closer than the betting line indicates.
