Re: Best Browns QB since 1999

I'm no Browns fan, but I'm with OSU_fan. I remember that year like it was yesterday. That CLE/PIT game is underrated as being a great game. Holcomb played for the Bills afterwards, but I'll always remember him for being the QB of that Browns team (I believe it was a flip flop all year with Couch).

Anderson had the most prolific year, but Browns fans probably look back the most fondly on Holcomb and maybe Couch because though he never showed too much, they never really helped him either.

Most people think Holcomb did more that year because he did start in the playoff game. Couch played and started 14 games that year. Holcomb only started the first two games and was actually replaced by Couch after that. 2003 is the year Holcomb did most of the starting. That week 17 in the AFC was great. Something like 10 or 12 teams were still eligible going into that week. That great 3-way tie in the AFC East. Browns actually only lost by 9 combined points in 3 games against the Steelers that year.

I'm not sure what's worse. This list of QB's or the fact the Original Browns won a Superbowl 5 years after they relocated. I'm sorry Browns fans for the suffering you have gone through.

If we're talking best QB FOR the Browns, it's Derek Anderson.

If we're talking best QB that at one time played for the Browns, it's clearly Jake Delhomme, as he's the only one who went to a Super Bowl and almost beat Tom Brady.

I'll never forget how hopeful I was when Garcia did this:

Jim Harbaugh
Peter Tom Willis
Will Furrer
Steve Walsh
Erik Kramer
Dave Krieg
Rick Mirer
Steve Stenstrom
Moses Moreno (who the hell?!?)
Shane Mathews
Cade McNown
Jim Miller
Chris Chandler
Henry Burris
Kordell Stewart
Rex Grossman
Craig Krenzel
Chad Hutchinson
Jonathon Quinn
Kyle Orton
Brian Griese

That's a LOOONG list and only slightly better than what the Browns have endured.

Trent Dilfer got a super bowl ring.

Re: Best Browns QB since 1999

Good point.

I still maintain that Jake Delhomme is better than Trent Dilfer.
