Re: NHL Ratings down

True, because Dallas and Colorado weren't true "expansion" teams. They were "relocation" teams.

Colorado had a great foundation for success when Quebec earned all of those draft picks in the Lindros deal, and Dallas had Modano to build around and made key deals and signings for guys like Zubov, Hull and Belfour.

Take care,
PK

Dallas and (especially) Denver have benefitted from ridiculously good fortune over their first decade since relocation. If the Stars or Avs were to slide out of the playoff picture for 3 or so years, would they be reduced to Florida Panthers status? Not saying they would, but it's difficult to know how deep the hockey roots go until hard times are experienced.

Sharks fans love their sharks! That is why we have one of the loudest rink in the leauge.

It is hard supporting loser! I know that suck, but it is just the truth. Many people live and die by their teams. But after awhile win your teams keep losing it is harder to follow them.

Re: NHL Ratings down

With the advent of salary caps and free agency, only a really poorly managed team stays lousy for a long time in hockey, basketball and football.

The end result is parity. Some people don't like that. I love it, as it gives "bubble" teams like the Oilers and their fans hope every single season.

Take care,
PK
