Trade Rumors. They are part of hockey. You cannot escape them.

Lets start on the most recent piece of new, which is not a trade rumor. It still qualifies as new though.

The Tampa Bay Lightning signed, Center, Mitch Fadden to a three year, rookie contract.

I have never seen this guy play, but he was our fourth round selection back in '07 and put up pretty good stats in juniors (37 goals and 76 points in 67 games). I think that this guy could probably center at a line 3/4 position as a rookie, but his placement will decide on how he plays at training camp.

In other news, surrounding some of our big stars:

Martin St.Louis could be back on the Rangers radar as it seems John Tortarella is pushing Ranger GM, Glen Slather, to find a way to get him.

In the package, The bolts would want Marc Stall or any of the following;Brandon Dubinsky, Ryan Callahan, Michael Del Zotto and Evgeny Grachev.

The owners have made some pretty strange trades but I don't like the names up there. Maybe some Zherdef or Antrapov or Mara.I could see the Bolts getting rid of him as he is hitting the prime of his career, but here in Tampa, we really love him and I do not think we should have to worry to much on this one...

As it happens every single year, Vinny Lecavalier is being thrown around the rumor mill again.

Tampa should definelty take this more seriously as Briawn Lawton said that if finacial problems increase and we dont get some investors. He may go to clear salery cap.

When a GM makes an anouncement like that, you have to take it to some consideration. Trading Vinny before the draft would not be a bad move as his no-trade clause does not come into play until this offseason as St.louis contract already has one.

Regardless, this will be a busy offseason and I'm looking forward to seeing what we get and what we do!

It's hard to win games when they lost their top two goalies that entered the season to injuries and had a slew of injuries along the blueline including losing their top 2 defenseman in February. I'm not sure Detroit would be where they are if they had to start Howard and had Lebda and Chelios in the lineup instead of Lidstrom and Rafalski. I've always doubted pro athletes would purposely lose to benefit a club they might not be back with or to get a prospect that's going to steal their spot on a team.

Cool blog Bolts26, do you go to BoltProspects?

Re: The Lightning Blog

no, they didn't "tank" it...they just lack talent. plus, vinny went down with an injury and stamkos never found himself until the last third of the season. their defensemen were a complete mess - mesjaros had a really down year, boyle was moved and they were basically down to a bunch of AHL guys playing next to unproven goalies.

this ownership and front office has created themselves a mess...that's why they lost.

Re: The Lightning Blog

You could say the same about the Leafs, yet they still were still winning in the last stretch of the season.

Twice, it could be a coincidence,
Three times, it should be looked at.
