Thanks for the reply! Guess I’ll have to find some other way to boost my OVR.

EDIT: Do you think 84 HR/9 is a bit too much?

It’s higher than most ratings but is comparable to the elite HR preventing pitchers (Treinen, Britton, etc). You can raise the sliders if you want the ability to see more HR allowed.

Thanks man. I saw one SP (I forgot his name) who had 91 HR/9 but his other stats were kinda low. I guess I'll hold off on raising my caps. After all, I'm only in my third year. And it wouldn't be that big of a deal if Walker Buehler didn't become a 99 OVR next year (I simmed ahead and took a sneak peek). I want to be the ace!

        Good idea with the sliders!

I just want to know if they are actually being applied, whether they are listing or not. I did a full wipe and reinstall and it still just shows Commander in Chief and Beating Heart as active, no matter what tier 2 or even 3 perks I have activated.

I can say this.... I'm not sure which tier the perk is that says your teammates hit better when you're on base.... but I haven't seen any indication that this is working. I'll pay more attention to what I have equipped to see if I can confirm some of these as working or not working.

Another question - Has anyone been able to equip the unlockable HR animation or audio? I've hit milestones and it shows I earned as a reward but when I've gone to equip these in the menus they still show locked.

I'm playing at LF for the Indians and I'm currently in the 2022 season. The 3 seasons previous, starting pitching on the team has dominated in the regular season as far as ERA and runs allowed go. Also eclipsed the 100 win mark each year.

Every year in the Division Series, the SP get shalacked by the opposite team.

Last year (2021) the Indians played the A's, our team ERA in the regular season was just over 3.00 per game.

Lost to the A's in 4 games giving up an average of 8 runs per game.

So my questions to the community is....are you experiencing the playoffs to be harder, or your SP going to hell? I'll feel relived if I'm the only one with this experience.

I think the biggest thing.... and not saying in your case, just in general, is understanding the perks and how they work. After you brought this up I took a hard look at these. The perks have a normal function, and then they have a boost function as well. The boost is triggered only if you have the requirement met (ex. 10 bros, 10 friends, etc). I haven't seen alot of information here, or anywhere really, about how well/not well these are working. After looking at them though....there is some great advantages if they are working to carefully choosing what you equip, as you can play to the strengths of your player as well as some great team options. There even may be some advantages to working on player relationships when you don't have good options to train or you have your player at a high level. I'll be VERY curious how well these work and how they will impact the overall success of not only your player but the team as well. Especially in my case as I'm not far enough along in my career yet to have the requirements met that trigger the boost. Especially on my SS save as I just got traded to the Nationals which reset all the relationships in the Mariners organization that I had worked on. You will notice in the chart I posted earlier, that there are also "hybrid" benefits that help you determine which 2 sets in the tree that you option.

Re: Official MLB 19 : Road to the Show Thread

I chose to get by the Rockies as a SP and got called up to the Majors after 1 season in the Minors.

However, during Spring Training before my first season, I was converted to a closer, because analytics. I didn't outright refuse the conversion to CP and mentioned that I'll give it a shot.

I had to pitch my entire rookie season as a closer which was annoying because I wanted a chance at the ROY.

I'll be starting my second season later this week and was wondering how in the world I can go about becoming a starter again. The 989 Sports agent has called a couple of times and I mentioned that I want to be a starter, but to no avail.

Any ideas on how I should go about this?

Yes, you need extra work for the boosted perks. But you get the normal effect just by activating it. And it use to show that those second tier effects were active when I stepped up to the plate. Now it doesn't for me. It just lists the two base perks that don't even have a bonus attached.

There's one second tier normal effect perk under Captain that gives you a power swing on X with a 3-1, 2-0 count. There's one under Heart and Soul that gives you improved hitting ability when ahead in the count. These are both huge bonuses, especially stacked, and you can get them both activated by your first game if you play answers correctly.

I’ve played 2 and 1 partial season with the Braves & they were roughly a 60-68 win team all 3 years. Then I get a 1 year contract with Baltimore who went 88-74 the year and currently they’re 43-59. It’s mostly the bats that have sucked. I’m a consistent .275-.310 hitter depending on the month, but I get LOB an insane amount. With the O’s, through 102 games I’m hitting .293 with only 34 RBI to go with my 8 HRs. Our lineup has only 3 guys hitting above .230.

It gets boring to see but it’s probably realistic.

Does anyone have experience with dynamic difficulty in RTTS? I always seem to have problems when I hit the majors. Either it's too hard, or it seems too easy.

Is dynamic difficulty the way to go or should I find those perfect slider settings?

Posting this here as well Ten.... just so it's in the thread.

I have tried dynamic difficulty and it's just not for me. It seems to make my player way to streaky with almost unrealistic tears at the plate followed by brutal slumps. Some enjoy this type of experience but I don't. It works better for me to choose a difficulty, most of the time a little above my success level, and tweak the sliders a bit for my experience. For instance, this year I've had trouble with the fastball and getting around on it so I had to tweak it down 1 notch. As you develop your attributes and as you pile up at bats in some cases I've had to adjust sliders back up. The most important thing for me with the difficulty in RTTS is I want the opposing pitchers to pitch me smart. On some of the lower difficulties there are way too many meatballs. I like to get 1 or 2 good pitches to hit an AB max.... with some AB's where the pitcher will not give in at all. You can easily become a hall of famer without hitting .400. Honestly, as long as you have the production, clutch, and some power.... you can do it by hitting .300 and above.

From the Mariners to the Nationals in 2020. Then in the offseason.... traded to the evil empire (Yankees ) on my SS save. Honestly.... it's hard to dislike being in a lineup with Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Torres, Hicks, Rosario. Maybe a record season on the way.
