EDIT: It should be noted that the Clippers traded Blake Griffin on the first year of his max to get this whole ball rolling, lol
    Lmao... That's awesome!

Oh by the way, I'm not saying teams don't trade players like cattle. We see that all the time.

Stopped playing defense when he left San Antonio. Lost the ability to shoot on a consistent basis and can't finish around the basket for whatever reason.

He's Tim Hardaway Jr with none of JR's willingness to play defense.

Well, with his injury history it makes sense to sign a 4 year to give himself long term security. Why sign for 2 when you can sign for 4 and if you don't like it you can force a trade? Players are having their cake and eating it too.

Respect for how he got here, but you cant stop working once you get your first contract.

And I'm not looking the other on the AD situation that happen. I'm also not saying Kawhi shouldn't talk to players. But man don't sign a long term deal. If I were the Thunder I'd sit on him.

It gives him security. I’m also not sure that PG initially wasn’t committed to OKC. I think he was. Nothing in the past year gives any indication he wasn’t. But going home and bringing himself and Kawhi to a 48 win team was probably too hard to pass up.

and if we're honest OKC was on the downtrend

They were a treadmill 1st round exit

                Portland got better

                Utah got better

                Denver got better

Both LA's eventually would be fighting with them at the mid to seed area

                Westbrook getting older

The team was WAY over the cap and severely limited

They got a noice young point guard
A nice player and shooter in Gallo who had a cheaper deal than PG
                A bevy of picks

So they gladly traded Paul George to get some assets

Lets quick acting like he strong armed OKC.

The talk about Kawhi and his exit from SA...dude I don’t think most people viewed him as the victim. If I recall the majority opinion was that it was his uncle running things and being “difficult.” In that ordeal Kawhi’s entourage was often portrayed as the villains, which makes the props given to them this round funny to me.

As for Cousins. It’s a good signing at that cost but his conditioning needs to get better. Talk about 16 and 8 all you want, his lateral quickness was nonexistent vs the Raptors. Every PnR where he had the roll man was easy money for Toronto. That’s the bigger issue than his offensive production

For PG requesting the trade. I don’t believe there was any animosity between him and Russ. He seemed content in OKC to me. But then an opportunity arrived that he felt he couldn’t pass up. It’s as simple as that.

Last note on the CBA and potential lockout...lol. That hot take is fresh out the oven smh. Just stop

It’s becoming apparent to me that the ‘discontent’ with Westbrook and PG wasn’t with each other but with the organization itself.

I honestly can't believe some of you are saying LeBron and AD are a better duo than PG and Kawhi. LeBron is 35 and has noticeably lost a step, aside from the fact that he plays zero defense. AD is legit awesome.
Kawhi is the best two way player in the league bar none and PG isn't far off.

And to the dude who asked if this was LeBron's most talented team, spare me. Dude has played on Allstar teams basically his entire career except the first few years. The heat with DWade, bosh and Allen were better and the Cavs with kyrie and klove were better.

Well, to not believe might be due to a lack of imagination. Saying AD and LeBron will be a better duo next season isn't controversial. Maybe some recency bias for you to not even entertain the possibility.

Sure, LeBron might have lost a step. Now he isn't God, he's merely Jesus.

Does Toronto swing for a guy like Wiggins? Toronto still has a nice solid team. I think they're a playoff team. I could see a gamble on a talented Canadian underachiever.

Mind you, I have seen maybe a handful of Timberwolves games and I'm aware of Wiggins perception. But I think it could be worth the gamble to get a Canadian there. Wiggins contract isn't ideal, but Toronto isnt likely to get another American superstar there. And there wouldn't be the whole "it's a great city, but its not home" stuff we have heard from American players about Toronto. Wiggins could grow with Siakam, FVV and Ananoby on a solid team and who knows.
