It was already stated last year that the NFL license is in EA's hands for a couple more years. There is no reason to doubt they will renew.

But it was never stated if it was an exclusive deal or just a regular one. That's why the 2k rumors last year went as far as it did. Every time we ask about the exclusivity of the deal this time we where meet with silence. While normally this is fine since companies don't usually talk about their dealings with other companies EA always seems to love to point out they where the exclusive makers of an nfl football game so what changed?

The other strange thing about this is no one stating this isn't true. If JM16 is just simpler game for mobile why let a rumor like this gain it's legs if you are the developer? It only hurts them if they don't speak on it. Rather disappoint people now than later.

Yes, it was stated it was an exclusive deal.

The good news is that, per the league office, the exclusive EA license lasts only a “couple more years.” The bad news is that, thanks to all the money earned over the last decade by selling basically the same game with different players in the software and a different picture on the cover (which has been hyped into something far more significant than it is), EA will surely be able to extend the exclusive license, if it wants.

Damn Damn Damn!!!!!!! *shakes fists violently*

Guess the mystery now is who made that damn reliant stadium render? Maybe it's from a Madden game. Surprise no one has looked into that. That or some dude is spending his free time making renders of stadiums( it's possible I guess).

Edit: looking at the pic more are we sure this isn't a real pic with funny **** done to it?

I think it's likely a mobile game.

At most, It'll be a $20 Xbox Arcade/PSN game, IMO.

I don't think it's EA, we would see Fruit Star or some other made up ad by the jumbotron. Also Under Armor seems to have a big role in advertising in JM16 (field goal rendering).

I can't see the devs sinking this much energy into detailed faces and mo-cap if it's just a mobile game. I really hope for everybody's sake it's a console/PC game. I can't tell you one sports game I've ever played on a smartphone.

The truth is the NFL has set themselves up for a problem with the exclusive license. That license killed off all competition for football gaming so who does EA bid against when the license comes up? EA could offer half of what they are paying and what can the NFL do about it? It's always made sense to me for sports games to have competition to keep the license fee high. If there is only one bidder why would EA continue to pay a lot of money?

This would be the ONLY thing that would make me buy an Xbox One at this point. It makes sense, don't know about the 2k part, but the rest seems to fit. As I said he used NFL team names and logos and you just can't do that with just the NFLPA license. And MS deal with NFL was mega money, of course the NFL would allow them, as we haven't heard any concrete details of the EA deal as of late. This is just crazy
