I want to see more larger than life megastars on that roster. With John Cena taking a very obvious back seat to this new generation, who will be the guy to carry WWE to greater heights? I just don't see him right now when I watch Raw or Smackdown.
Bray, Rusev, Ziggler, Ambrose are four just off the top of my head that could have taken over. Three out of four have been ruined, but Ziggler and Rusev seem to be back on the right track.....for now.

No...when we're talking taking over for Cena, we're talking taking over for the guy that took over for The Rock and SCSA, who took over for Hulk Hogan. There is no guy on the current roster that has that superstardom mainstream appeal written all over them.

Sasha Banks is my closest guess.

It has to be a woman. The next evolution for WWE is going to be creating a female megastar.

I agree with some who are saying the Attitude Era wasn't as good as everyone remembers. Nostalgia definitely is a factor in how good "it was".

Stonecold vs Rock, Stonecold vs Vince, DX and maybe the Hardcore division. That's really the things to me that stand out about the Attitude Era as awesome.

But Val Venis, the Headbangers, DOA, Los Boricuas, the Oddities, Steve Blackman, Dan Severn, Furnas & Lefon, Mark Henry, and so many others just never had me. And I don't really care to ever see them again.

If I ever watch an Attitude Era Raw I'm usually fast forwarding to see Steve Austin beat on someone or cut a promo.

I dunno, I think one if the reasons the Attitude era was so hot was because, top to bottom, guys were over. Russo was writing characters, pushing the limits with everyone. Guys like The Godfather, D-Lo, Farooq, Val Venis, New Age Outlaws, etc. You might not have cared for them, but people remember them and have a clear memory if what those characters were about.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Has there ever been a female that was mainstream popular? Not just outside porn?

Stacy Keibler is probably closest.

The older I get, the more I feel that the AE was a true flash in the pan (nothing wrong with that). For a couple of the years that Era had one of the worst in ring products and a pretty bad midcard but got ridiculous ratings. I think that was just an awesome job of McMahon/writers being in tune with the culture and goings on of that time period.
