Re: WWE Off-Topic

It may be an unpopular opinion but I feel that the wrestlers should understand what they are getting themselves into. It’s just like football players who sue about concussions 30 years laters. Nobody is forcing you to wrestle. If you want guaranteed health benefits go get a normal job like the rest of us. You make lots of money and get to travel the world. Deal with it.

It’s a fine opinion and one with which I agree.

As of right now they are no better than WWE when it comes to how they treat their wrestlers in terms of health benefits. Hopefully this promise and women's pay turn out to be true in the long run because it's needed in the entire industry not just WWE, ROH, NJPW, etc.

There are currently 5 in ring performers with full benefits in AEW. They are Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Kenny Omega. What does 5 all have in common, you ask? They are all executives in the company so they are getting all the benefits because of that not because they are wrestlers. That's like WWE diehards claiming WWE gives benefits to their performers because Triple H, Shane, Vince and Steph all get benefits.

I think this opinion's fine. There is enough known now that aspiring and active wrestlers know the risks when they go into it and they still make the choice to do it. That's their decision.

They still choose to do this knowing how it is - but is the wrestling life being the way it's always been a good enough reason to not improve things where possible? That's where I'm at.

Another thing if a wrestler is injured. WWE foots the bill. They send wrestlers to rehab who have been out of the company for decades and pay for it. Sure they can do better. But it’s not that bad.
