MLB 2K10 News Post

2K Sports just released the patch notes for Major League Baseball 2K10.

Quote:
"Here are the notes of patch fixes for MLB 2K10 on the 360. I have been informed that the patch could go live as early as this week, no later than next (if I get further update, will pass the word along). I want to confirm that there is scheduled to be another 360 patch along with a confirmed PS3 patch (that will most likely be a combination of the two if all goes as planned). We got the support to be able to fast track this patch for 360, so pretty cool that we'll have it out this early for you MS users.

I should point out that this update addresses the issue with Online Ranked Games, Check Swings, along with several (by my count, at least 5) points that you guys discussed in the community feedback. Also, we have a fix in place for My Player, and we think it should get you guys having issues squared, but I personally don't want to guarantee that it will be the only fix needed. There might be another weird cause of My Player issues, but we'll be working around the clock on reproducing any additional My Player issues after the below fix is in place. Remember always to hold on to your My Player file and please let me know if you have issues after the update. I have been told by Dev that some cases in Q&A have cleared up the locked up My Player post-update, so hope some of you are lucky like that.

The next (scheduled) patch should aim to alleviate even more of your feedback and address any outstanding issues. Thanks!"

Don't buy the PC version of any 2k Sports game expecting the bugs to be fixed...

Fixing the pitching fatigue/management bug and adding check swings are VERY significant, and that's just two fixes out of the many that are in the patch.

I don't see how u guys can be happy with this patch. I mean the only thing to be happy about is how fast they got it out and all the things they're fixing. However, they're only fixing 1 of the 2 biggest problems in the game. The pitcher stamina (fixed) and the outfielders throwing power (not fixed)

Hope the double switch is fixed.

Seems like the best way to fix the outfielder arms may be with a Roster update though.

I'm very happy with it, released only 13 days after release of the game. The check swing is added, the pitcher stamina is fixed, the casual outfielder animation which I'd been scored on because of it fixed, and I already fixed the outfielder throwing power myself through edits. These were probably my top issues with the game, and they're already fixed.

Only way I would be dissapointed is if we have to restart our franchises for these to work, because if that's the case I'll just go with no patch.

2k can easily tone down the rocket arms through roster updates.

Probably for some, but I think once this patch hits the addition of check swings are going to be pretty minor. I've had two or three situations in dozens of games where I started my swing and then wanted to pull back.

The fatigue bug is HUGE, and it would be nicer if the management AI got a boost in IQ.

As someone posted earlier, will I have to restart my franchise or will the patch work with my current franchise?

I have no idea how you play franchise mode when they dont even have the player potentials. How do you even draft?

I could be mistaken, but I didn't see anything in that list that addresses franchise mode at all. All I really need is for them to fix the money situation and them I'm set for franchise mode.

Need to include errors to call itself a baseball simulation. I have not seen a single error in about 30 games played. Maybe a couple were scored errors, but there appear to be no animations of infielders botching ground balls, for example.

This patch improves a lot of things. The check swing, pitcher fatigue, and the player of the game fix are good ones. Now only needs: errors, arm strength slider. If they have to actually add-in error animations, and not just make them become more common, then I can see why it wasn't something that could be patched quickly. But how can they have forgotten to add errors?

I have seen two errors, so the animations are in, but they just rarely happen.

I still want:

- Make it easier to steal, it is impossible right now so it's like a baseball game missing both STEALS and ERRORS
- Bring back the signature routine/rituals, they are all cut off

Oh I see you could care less that that you have no idea who is good or not in the draft. You dont even have a clue as to anyones potential. Because the players potential is hidden. Was this done on purpose?

How am I suppose to draft a guy who has a chance of being good.

In real life draft you know who has high potential. Also I hope in this game potential isn't set and dead locked.

Just cause someone has 98 potential doesn't mean they should become a hall of famer 10 out of 10 times. I hope thats not the case

still need an answer on whether we'll have to start new my player modes or franchises to incorporate the new patch?

I think the only error animation people have seen is the missed outfielder catch. But what about 1B/2B/3B/SS botching plays? Those are the animations I am really wondering about
