Madden NFL 11 News Post

VGRevolution has posted their hands-on impressions of Madden NFL 11.

Quote:
"The first change gamers will see is the new play calling system called “Game Flow”. Game Flow is a system that takes the playbook out of your hands and gets you right to the action on the field as quick as possible. If you use Game Flow what will happen is your offensive and defensive coordinators will be calling the plays, which for the most part is what happens during a real game. If you have a headset on the coordinators will actually tell you what plays are being called, and even explain the reasoning of the call. If you don’t wear a headset there is an on-screen text pop-up with the information. While this is a great system for the rookies out there, and will cut gameplay times in half. Hardcore fans will feel letdown and will end up going back to the normal play calling. The addition of the coordinator communication is neat, but was a bit shallow. It would be nice to hear them offer suggestions as you flip through the playbook, and even better make recommendations on if you should challenge a call. I’m sure the less experience will enjoy it."

1. When playing, did you get to use any power backs. If so, were they as effective with their power as speed backs are with their speed? Or is it going to still be a scat back dominated game?

2. Did you focus on the WR/ DB play? If so, did the DB's play much more realisitc. Did they backpedal 30 yards and at crazy speeds. Or do they now turn after a few steps and run with the WR? Also, do they cover routes in a more realistic manner with keeping it all in front of them and making breaks on the ball when its thrown? Do they run the route simultaneously with the WR's or do they actually cover the WR instead of running the route with them?

3. Did you play NCAA too after your other video? Which game did you prefer?

1) Didn't get a chance
2) I notice more so there coverage, throwing into double or triple coverage in the endzone looked good and didn't feel impossible.
3) Yes, it's hard still NCAA is further along in development, also Madden we played in a dome, which I always thought looked kinda fake, while NCAA was outside and looked great. I'm on the fence between the two, but leaning more towards NCAA

We were asked not to shoot gameplay(Unlike some websites we do follow publishers requests), keep an eye on the EA Sports site, they were shooting gameplay videos.

I really do hope the blocking is better especially down field.
