not one of the better 2K screenshots. At least they are getting Jimmy Butler's skin tone closer to real life. But they give Jimmy extra meat (lbs), less lean muscle tone, I've said before he looks like Justice Winslow. Facial scan is not one of the better ones.
At least Live got the skin tone and body type right...
Damn I miss those days of awesome looking Live 16 screenshots. Live did few things better than 2K, but Live's style of graphics (player detail, lighting, courts) I preferred over 2k's. Meh, anyways...creme always rises to the top.
It is really astounding. Can't imagine someone looking at that pic and not seeing the huge midsection. The only thing that I can't think of is:
1) They can see it but don't want to spend time/resources fixing that
2) They got so close to seeing those body models each day that stopped seeing the flaws
In all seriousness, if 2k copied the lighting, sound and body models from Live the presentation would be much better. The Jimmy Butler is night and day from Live to 2k. Live is almost photorealistic, and 2k is...yeah. Strange from a company who despite many flaws is pretty solid.
Maybe a bit off topic, but who remembers Vince Carter being booed in NBA Live 10 every time he played in Toronto? The crowd in NBA Live has always been excellent. If 2k can get some better crowd noises in, and featues like getting KD booed in OKC every time he plays there for example, presentation would be next level.
In all honesty I'd say that I'm sure Jimmy's face will look a whole lot better from a different angle in this 2k17. The angle used in the screenshot is making it look weird.
I could totally get on board with everything if he wasn't wearing that potato sack.
And I suppose that's just an extension of his short and wide 2K torso.
But if that potato sack he's wearing had like creases and folds in it, then it would look baggy. As it is, it's like a tight fitting, wide potato sack. Which makes him just....look....wide.
I just did a quick little trimming in Photoshop (didn't put too much effort as you can see).
Maybe I overdid it a little bit, but looking at real Butler pictures, the issue here I think it is not so much the waist line. It's the tight clothes. Jerseys and shorts need to be baggy, Butler's body type doesn't have any fat, clothes should be hanging.
