What is the "Eye" rating for when you're doing a hitter? I haven't added any points to that yet because I figured it just meant like..how good he is at seeing pitches, but I figured that would only be needed if I was simulating or something, not for me playing all the games?

You're right about it being used for seeing pitches, but when you're playing, if you have a high eye rating, it will flash what kind of pitch it is and if it's inside, outside, etc right before the pitch is released to help give you an idea of what to expect.

noob question, but when is it outside and when inside? I know its over the middle of the plate when i get a blue square. Bot the border line pitches, how do you tell them apart?

So say you're a right handed batter. When the eye works for a pitch over the middle, it lights up the entire border of the square. If the pitch is outside, it will light up only the right-hand border of the square, and the opposite if it's an inside pitch. It will also light up only the upper part of the square if it's a high pitch or the lower part of the square if it's a low pitch. Hope this helps.

I don't think so. Someone said when it lights up the whole square that it means it's a strike, but I don't think that's true. The point of the eye in my opinion is that it allows you to know about where the ball is going to be thrown, and you know how the pitch will break so you can read it better.

When playing the CPU i reckon if the whole square lights up its generally going to be coming down in the zone, if its the sides lighting up its usually a ball but the ball may be cutting the edge of the plate. Really makes you think whether or not leave it or have a swing.

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

Didn't play 2k10, so I just tried My Player for first time. Created a closer in the White Sox organization. It's quite addictive. I played 12 games while losing track of time (seemed like an hour and a half) and couldn't put down the controller.

Looking forward to getting to the majors and facing batters I recognize and getting caught up in a pennant race. With Birmingham (AA) I don't even care to see what their record is because it's all about me and what I have to do to make it to the Show (I've already developed an athlete's mentality).

Anyway, I'm close to having enough points to get a third pitch. Should I get the third pitch or use the points to improve my velocity, control, stamina, etc. Any advice?

Also, do you move up to AAA, because it seems from reading other accounts most people are going from AA to the majors.
