the CPU pitches the same way to you if your not getting success, i take alot of pitches which help create walks, which also gives me better pitches to hit as the game goes on ( doesnt work all the time, its baseball so its not suppose too)

I've been pulling 3-4 walk a game lately and I really work the pitch count. I try to vary approach to change the pace. I think part of it is my team is always dog tired. When they are fresh we hit the ball but after 2 or 3 games in a row we are back to swinging a limp noodle. I don't strike out often, seems like I would at least luck into some hits when making decent contact.

the tiredness could be the factor in your case...

Anyone else noticing a ton of swings and misses now after 1.10 with directional? I went from striking out 5-7 times a game to now striking out 10+ a game because of the ridiculous amount of good timing whiffs. This is HoF directional.

Re: Hitting after Lastest Patch

I've had a good variety of games since the last patch. I skipped around in a few series in a test franchise that I have going. First game I won 5-3 against the pirates, then won 6-4 against the Red Sox, then two losses against the Reds 3-2, and 8-1.

I don't think it's the servers... I think they changed something with how the pitch comes from the pitchers hand..

Re: Hitting after Lastest Patch

This is probably the most frustrated I've been with hitting in this series, after thinking this was the best hitting version of the game after the first few initial patches. I've always been a default HOF hitting guy, and after the last three or so patches, I struggle to even hit on All-Star. My best swings go foul, my hardest hits are constantly at people or into a shift, and just no overall rhyme or reason to whats going to be a hit.

I really wish they would find a better balance between trying to simulate the "randomness" of baseball, and allowing the user to have input in hitting, especially in zone hitting. If I'm skilled enough to constantly have my pci on or near the ball with good timing, I should see the results point blank. I don't want to hear about "sometimes perfect timing isn't the the best timing" because that's an asinine explanation. If I stay back on a pitch to the outside of the plate, that's perfect timing. I shouldn't need to be just late or late, to see better results.

Just really frustrated, and the developers have been pretty hush about the obvious changes to hitting throughout the patches for this game. Only so many times I can continue to watch the CPU Hit for authority on balls no where near the pci, while I'm constantly being penalized for good contact and timing, and hitting it foul or right at someone. Would love to be able to go back to like patch number three.
