Especially with the protest of NBA live and the disappointments with Madden....

Dropping a football with 2k on it..will sell by name within it self....but to have great customization options, is going to boost the limitless play....

Can't wait next season...Football 2k8 is going to be crazy...the return of Dan and Peter would be a breathe of fresh air...from that annoying radio announcer on Madden....
They are getting good reviews, but as for recognition? Not really, just go to NBA.com they are promtoing NBA Live everywhere, and even have it in thier online store, but not 2K.

As for customization options, I promise you the NFL, EA (and their lawyers) will crush any attempt to create a game save that has NFL logos, stadiums and uniforms. EA already did that with Winning Eleven when people were creating Premier league saves on the pc with PL uniforms and logos. EA and the PL sent out a ton of cease and desist letters to any site that hosted the save. They will do the same here.

Damn It Jim I'm Doctor Not a Programmer...lol..

Dang man, do you have to continue pissing on my parade....its wishful thinking....

Yeah I saw the Overseas game between Pheonix and Phily yesterday and they had NBA Live all over the scorers table...flipping....

It shows the NBA is definitely not paying attention....because to advertise a game that is so horrid is crazy....but then again...maybe they just trying to help that crap sell...so that they can get their money out of it...

On the tables? lol, they used Live to go through plays and set or highlight players. I love seeing bobble head Nash doing a fancy no look pass with no traffic to a guy cutting away from the basket.

The NBA isnt promoting it....EA is. They pay to sponsor the European tours. EA pays to get the high profile ad space on NBA.com. I wish 2k would do that for once.

Re: new 2k fooball game?

Timing is critical for a generic/custom 2K football game. Now that a couple years have passed, and Madden has been on 'auto-pilot'? A number of gamers would gladly try another game.

Throw in the fact that EA wants to nickel-and-dime for uniforms, stadiums? Then give people the option of doing all that themselves with a 2K game?

Certainly, as has been stated, the NFL/EA would be all over any generic game to prevent NFL logos and such from being used, but you could do whatever you want at home, and share gamesaves with friends, or e-mail with an ActionReplay type device.

It really is 'wishful thinking' at this point, but we'd have a blast with a generic game wouldn't we?

So they spend their limited budget away from upgrading the game??????

I think 2k has got enough good publicity from making solid games that now they should either
1) Put out the same resources that EA does in the marketing/PR department

or

2) Find the niche in the market as the sim alternative to EA and produce games for a niche market rather than the masses in general.

I would also like to see a company change the 1 year game cycle and utilize a monthly subscription like MMMORG's do. For the majority of us sim heads yearlong update and tweaks would be more useful than a new game every year. I would gladly pay up to $9.99 a month for this.

Thanks for the stats but lets get real. That was when the game was 20 bucks. Do you honestly think that a game over 20 bucks with no NFL license will sell millions?
